What Causes Irregular Periods After A Miscarriage?

Hi Doctor, my last period was on 19 June 2016. And my period had been irregular since my last miscarriage one year ago. Tested positive on 11 July. Then went for check up didn t see anything during u/s. So went back a week later a sac was detected. A week later which was today I went for another u/s as im having flu. Doctor scanned and found no fetal pole and sac collapse. What shall I do now

Hi,

This time it seems the irregularity was due to blighted ovum (or chemical pregnancy). For such thing to occurs is a chance & not related to a previous abortion. However, irregular periods do occur for a couple of months following the abortion (that is due to temporary hormonal imbalance following abortion). But yes, if not corrected within 2-3 months, you do need few cyclical hormonal pills for minimum months in order to regulate you menses & ovulation. Please consult a gynecologist.
