What Causes Irregular Periods After Removing Implanon?
So I got my implanon out on 8/10/16. Ever since then my cycles have literally been 17 days each cycle (have had 2 cycles since removal) I am a cancer survivor so have had chemo treatments for NH lymphoma. Could this be my body trying to get back on track or has the chemo possibly caused me these side effects? I had a period 3 days after I ovulated. All pregnancy tests are negative.
Following are the cause of irregular period: Hormonal imbalance, an emotional problem like stress, ovarian cyst/PCOS, change in lifestyle and dietary habit, thyroid disorder etc.
I advise you to consult the gynecologist and get the done following investigations: reproductive hormone analysis, thyroid hormone, ovarian follicle study, USG scan etc.
Management depends on the cause. The period can be induced by medroxyprogesterone after proper evaluation.
Do regular exercise like walking and medication early in the morning for 45-60 minutes, healthy diet and fresh fruits.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
