What Causes Irregular Periods After Stopping Deprovera Injection?
Hello I came off the deprovera injection 2 and a half years ago. However, my menstural cycle is not back to normal. Sometimes I go without bleeding for a couple of months, other times I bleed for several weeks at a time. Most recently I would bleed for up to 2-3 weeks, stop bleeding between 4-7 days and bleed again for a week or so. I also experience a bubbling feeling in my uterus, something I could only describe a lava when it bubbles in a volcano. I ve been to my doctors several times but they do not take me seriously. I m at the point of desparation as I only 29 and would like to have more children in the near future. I don t know if what I am experiencing is hqving a adverse affect on my fertility. Can you help?
Dear Patient! Thank you for asking us on HCM! I understand your concerns.
In fact the time to get regular periods after stopping depo provera may go up to one year. I don't think this will have bad effects on your health and ability to get pregnant in the future, but you have to wait a little more for this. If after a year, your cycle is not normal, then you contact your gynecologist. He may prescribe you drugs that help increasing your fertility if you want it.
Hope this answer was helpful to you! Kind regards! Dr Eriol.
