Hello! I am 45 yrs. old and have had heavy menses since the birth of my daughter by C section 9 years ago, but my periods have been regular up until just recently. I have started to have irregular menses but along with it has come strange pain that I normal have not had. Its pain I feel in lower back that seems to radiate down on each side of buttocks along with vaginal pain that aches and feels very sore to the point that I find it hard to sit flat at times. I have been to OB who has sent urine for cultures, sent me for an ultrasound of bladder and vaginal ultrasound and has performed Pap. Also have tested for any type of vaginal infection/STD s. All of which have come back negative. I am suppose to go back next week to discuss with OB next step to take. I am getting worried something more serious is going on that is not showing up. Do you have any suggestions what it could be? I have a history of painful periods and have often wondered about endometriosis or possible adenomyosis.
