General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, I really appreciate your concern. Your wife is experiencing peri-menopausal symptoms. These symptoms vary in each woman. They are due to hormonal imbalance during perimenopause.
For milder symptoms, she can have some life style modification like regular exercise, regular diet, avoid smoking and alcohol, reduce weight. For abdominal cramps she can have mefanamic acid and dicyclomine during heavy periods. Multivitamins can be taken according to physician's advice.
If there is severe bleeding during menstruation, she should consult a gynecologist.
Hope my answer has solved your query. Take Care.
Thank you.
