What Causes Irregular Periods And Light Spotting?

I had a period April 11. It was shorter than usual. It lasted a day and a half. (It s normally 3 days long)It was also kind of a slimey consistency. Exactly 14 days later, I spotted for 1day. Only a little blood on toilet paper. It varies in color from light pink at times, brown other times. I just started my period today,May 19. Again, it seems slimey. No chance I m pregnant. My husband has had a vasectomy. Just wondering what s up? I m usually consistant. My normal schedule is as follows: 3days of bleeding. Every 4 weeks or so. Always red, thin blood. Very heavy on day 1. Day 2 heavy, day 3 light flow.

Hello,

If you are on regular CP and have not had any open sex, then you may not be pregnant. If you are not on regular CP, did not take emergency CP and had unprotected sex then you can be pregnant. You are suggested to wait for a couple of days and do pregnancy tests (with urine and blood) to detect if you are pregnant.

You should visit your gynecologist and get clinically examined, get tests and investigations done. You will be treated accordingly. Irregular periods can also be due to hormonal imbalance, anemia, stressful lifestyle, poor general heath condition, thyroid issues, polycystic ovary disease, PID, etc.
