What Causes Irregular Periods And Weight Gain After Typhoid Treatment?
I am a 21 years old unmarried girl..I had regular period till my 19 years old..but in years of 19 I had to suffer a severe typhoid fever..and I had to take 20 injection for curing from the fever.after these my period was stopped then i consulted with a gynaecologist..nd she provide me steroid..bt till now my periods is not become normal.nd my weight is gain already 10 kg..but before this problem I always had a constant weight..i want to know is there any chance of sterility??or it will be normal?and now what should I do?
Hi, I think you should go for evaluation first. Do a thyroid profile and prolactin levels and a ultrasound for your uterus and ovaries. If anything is abnormal, it can be treated. It can be due to some thyroid disorder or may be polycystic ovaries. Typhoid can lead to temporary changes in periods but it will not affect periods for long time.
