General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi

Interval of 7 days is essential for complete removal of menstrual blood by progesterone withdrawal bleeding and regularisation of hormones. Early intake of contraceptive pills can cause increased bleeding in the next cycle.Hence allow a gap of 5 to 7 days before starting the next month course.

In case of excess bleeding more than 7 days, stop the drug and visit your gynaecologist for further management.Kindly do not continue the drug without physician approval.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
