What Causes Irregular Periods Despite Taking Medication For PCOD?
I am having irregular periods.i am 22 years old and i m married. I did not get periods for 3 months.pregnancy test was negative. I consultated a doctor and did scanning . It shows pcod. The doctor suggested me to take mephrate tab twice a day for 5 days. Its since 8 days i consumed the tablet but there is no symptoms of getting periods.. Should i wait for some more days? Will there be any problem with getting pregnant? Plz help me with this problem.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. PCOD is very complex disease and it cause hormone imbalance and menstrual irregularity. Treatment response is variable. Generally Meprate is used to induce the period in PCOS. You have to wait for more 2 to 3 days. If period will not come then high dose of progesterone is required by consulting the gynecologist.
Once period will come then take proper treatment of PCOS as below:
- Progsetrone pill in second half of the period. - Metformin to induce the ovulation. - Krimson 35: regularize the hormone imbalance and have anti androgenic effect.
Avoid stress, take healthy diet, avoid excessive sweet, do regular exercise and reduce 10 to 12% body weight.
Hope this may help you. Contact further if follow up needed.
Best regards, Dr. Sagar
