What Causes Irregular Periods In Spite Of Taking Gestin Tablets?
Hellow Sir, I am Mr.D.Nagarjuna from India. My wife is having irregular periods.Last MLP is 25 July. Recently (Sep 3) we met a doctor from KEM Hospital in Pune. Doctor had suggested there is no problem and they prescribed use gestin tablets for 5 days. My wife had been taking gestin tablet since 5 days, But she doesn t get any periods so far.Scanning report also fine. Is it helpful for my wife. Please give me a suggestion.

thank you for asking your concern and welcome to HCM. there are multiple reasons of irregular menstruation and most of the time it is sudden hormonal change only. you have already consulted your doctor so i assume pregnancy and other structural problem is already ruled out. in such situations we generally prescribe combined oral contraceptive pills for atleast 2 to 3 months to regularise the cycle. before this we have to rule out other conditons also like pregnancy, obesity, any family history of stroke, any recent delivery like that. it takes atleast 2 to 3 month of duration to make it regural with any kind of treatment either you take combine pills or progestin only pills.
if your wife is having white discharge then per vaginal and per speculum examination is necessory, if it is not done please visit your consultant.
