What Causes Irregular Periods Post Tubal Reversal Surgery?
HELLO, I JUST TURNED 39 YRS OLD AND HAD A TUBAL REVERSAL EARLY THIS YEAR (JUNE 2015). MY PERIOD HAS BEEN PRETTY REGULAR MY ENTIRE LIFE. BUT SINCE I VE HAD THIS REVERSAL I VE HAD A PERIOD 14 TO 16 DAYS APART IN TWO MONTHS. I M NOT SURE IF ITS BECAUSE I VE HAD SEVERE STRESS I VE BEEN GOING THROUGH DUE TO LOSS OF WORK AND FINANCIAL DIFFICULTIES ATOP THE STRESS OF TRYING TO GET PREGNANT. CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME IF THIS IS NORMAL OR NOT. I WAS TOLD BY THE NURSE AFTER MY SURGERY THAT ONLY ONE OVARY WAS SAVED BECAUSE THE OTHER TUBE WAS COVERED WITH FIBROIDS. COULD THIS BE THE REASON??
The reversal of tubal ligation via micro surgery is not cause of concern of irregular menses, but it is the removal of one of the ovaries is main culprit as now your only remaining ovary is ovulating, not both sides. Should discuss the topic during your scheduled follow up with your doctor.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
