What Causes Irregular Periods Post Withdrawal From Contraceptive Pills?

I m 39 years old. I recently went off the pill, had one period and nothing more for 3 months now. I am not sexually active. Have been having abdominal bloating and distention recently and now both my hips are hurting..especially when getting up and walking. Do I need to worry. Tight on funds so cannot go to the doctor. Please advise what I may be dealing with.
