What Causes Irregular Periods With Blood Clots While On Birth Control Pills?
I have been off birth control pills now for 4 months and have only had one normal, but late period. It came two weeks after I stopped the pill. Then I didn t have one for a little over 2 whole months. Now I ve been bleeding on and off for the past month. Sometimes it s very light and seems like it may be stopping and then other times it s very dark and even has some stringy clots in it. No other symptoms or any pain whatsoever. I feel normal other than the sporadic bleeding. Any clue as to why I m not back to normal yet? Before I started birth control, it was an average of 5 days of bleeding. I was on the pill for 3 years exactly. Any advice is appreciated.
The symptoms seem to be related to side effects of the birth control pills. Since the pill works by introducing different hormones into your system, it can affect your menstrual cycle. Some women may have lighter bleeding, and others may skip their periods entirely. It is normal and don't require treatment.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
