What Causes Irregular Periods?

Hi Doctor, Im 24years old.I m suffering from PCOS from last 6years.When I go to a doctor she has referred Regesterone 5mg.When I used that tablets I had my periods normally. When I discontinued again my periods go irregular. Later I contacted another doctor and she has suggested me KRIMSON 35.And I m using this KRIMSON 35 from last one year.When I discontinue tablets again my periods go irregular. How many days I have to use medicines?Would I conceive after marriage. Could you please help me in this question.I m very much terrified about my problem. Please help me.

Hi,

PCOS treatment before consists of reduction of weight to decrease insulin resistance--by diet control regular exercises. Cyclical hormones are given with a view to regulate menses following the course. PCO is problem in ovulation which is necessary for conception. So after marriage few hormonal courses are tried for stimulating rebound ovulation in next cycle and if there is conception with this, that is well and good.

However, in case there is no response with hormonal treatment there are various treatment regimes which stimulate ovulation. Few patients need laparoscopic surgery to release pressure in ovaries (drilling / wedge resection) which normalizes ovulation, conception rate is good after such treatments.
