Hi My friend is suffering from irregular periods Her periods was due on 26 jan and we had unprotected incmplete intercourse on 28jan ,she was adviced to take meprate 10 mg(1-0-1) for five days ,she had withdrawl bleeding on 14 feb till 19feb then later on 26-27-28 feb she again had bleeding which not looked like ovulation bleeding What would be the cause? Beta hcg done on 16 feb and it came 0.4 Later we visited to gynec to ask the reson for the bleeding Even he was not sure why this type of bleeding occured He prescribed db10 tablets and c.v.p tablet to stop the bleeding ,she only took it for 3 days and stopped as bleeding disontinued ,now the bleeding started What would be the possible cause ,as we were not satisified with the answer Shall we go to some other gynec or is this just due to hormonal imbalance You reply would be much appreciated Thankyu ..
It seems your friend is experiencing the irregular bleeding because of hormonal imbalance due to the incorrect way of taking the hormonal pills. She did not take the full course of 10 days as prescribed by the gynecologist which further lead to aggravation.
I would advise her to consult a gynaecologist so that she can be put on hormonal pills for a few weeks to get her cycle on track. The pills have to be started on the fifth day of the cycle. If she is not relieved, then may have to get a USG and a few blood tests are done to rule out other causes.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Nazma Amman
