What Causes Irregular Vaginal Spotting And Back Pain While On Nexplanon?
I ve been on the nexplanon for almost 2 years so I won t become pregnant and I haven t got my period at all I had sex last weekend and I started spotting that nite & it stopped n today it happen again spotting pink and back pain.. Can I be pregnant? Thank you
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Nexplanon is a etonogestrel implant. It gives a continuous protection against pregnancy for up to 3 years. Irregular spotting and back pain could be side effects associated with nexplanon. It should subside on its own with symptomatic treatment. But, since you are getting these symptoms after having intercourse, it could be also due to pelvic inflammatory disease. To confirm weather you are pregnant or not, you can test your urine for pregnancy test. Kindly get examined and get evaluated clinically by consulting Gynecologist in this regard. Accordingly, it could be managed. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
