What Causes Irritation In The Lower Abdomen And Mucus In Stools?

Hello doctor, I have been having a problem with my stomach over the last 3 weeks, I feel irritation in the lower side of my stomach which is very unstable mostly in the morning. I recently visited a laboratory to get some test done on stool and blood analysis. The test came out that; There were presence of large amount of mucus in my stool, brownish in color and also present of starch granules. I went to the pharmacist and he gave me Tinidazole and Neopetine capsules..I took the doze for three days and it improved a bit but now i am still having the same problem though not to the same magnitude as before,,,Please help Doctor.

Hello
Thanks for writing to us.

Ulcerative colitis is the most common inflammatory bowel diseases that can cause mucus in the stool and leads to abdominal pain.
It affects the entire digestive tract, from the mouth to the rectum.
The whole digestive process is unstable.
The medicines you are taking are the right ones.
Take them for another 4 days.

Thanks
Dr. Tripat Mehta
