What Causes Irritation On Tongue And Swollen Taste Buds After Chewing Orbit Gum?

My daughter has had an allergic reaction to chewing orbit gum this week at school. Her tongue hurts, her taste buds are swollen and beneath her tongue feels all cut up. Any remedies for this? She stopped chewing it two days ago when she realized it was making her sick.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

As per your complain as she has an allergic reaction to the chewing gum, you should give her anti-allergic medicines like Cetrizine or Fexofenadine[allegra] for reducing allergy symptoms.

Doing warm saline gargles will help..

Gargle with 1:1 solution of benadryl and milk of magnesia will relieve..

If there is burning or pain gargling with a numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine will help..
Sucking ice pops will also relieve..

For pain and inflammation in mouth IBUPROFEN can be taken..
