What Causes Itchiness And Bruises On The Skin After A Dog Bite?
Hi, I was bitten by a dog two weeks ago, the dog was fully vaccinated so I didn t go to the Dr. however where he broke skin is very hard and itchy is this normal? I have kept them clean and also have bruises on then, the bite punctures were not deep at all.
Hello Dear. Irrespective of whether the dog is vaccinated or not, you need to approach the doctor in case of dog bites. Do not neglect dog bites, because if disease develops there is no cure. Anyways, you need to take Tetanus injection in case you havent taken in the last 6 months. If its your domestic dog or neighbours dog, keep a watch on dog for the next ten days to see any symptoms of madness. if there is anything suspicious immediately go to the doctor and you get vaccinated against rabies. Presently there may be some skin infection at the site. kindly consult a doctor who may prescribe antibiotics and creams for local application. Hope i have answered your question. Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions. I ll be glad to help you. All the best With warm regards Dr Sanjay Kini
