What Causes Itchiness And Redness On The Foot?

My mother in law (76 years old) started taking Konsyl powder, per her PCP. She started it last week and has complained of severe itching and redness of the top of her feet. Symptoms started a few days ago on one foot and now it s on both. Could this be an allergy reaction? She denies any swelling or any other symptoms

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It could be of great help if you can send a photo of the itchiness and redness area to evaluate the changes myself.

The symptoms seem like an allergy reaction. Try to stop Konsyl powder. Give antihistaminic for itchiness. If still no improvement, should consult with her caring doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
