What Causes Itchiness And Swelling In The Face And Eyes?

Hello. I am 33 yr old white female. I recently came down with the flu of some sort. The medication my PCP gave me are the same ones I have took before. Since yesterday, my face is slightly swollen, red (sun burn red), itchy, and my eyes are dry and itchy. I did put lotion on my face and it burned. I did call my pharmacy and I was told the medications wouldn't have any type of reaction like this. I am exhausted too. Can you help me?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain red swollen face along with itching and dry and itchy eyes and exhausted feeling are all indicating towards an allergic reaction only and although it seems confined to your face but seems pretty severe..

You should stop taking any of the medications that you are taking and consult an Emergency room or an Allergist and get examined..
They will advise you blood tests to rule out the cause for the symptoms and treat you accordingly..

As of now you can take anti histamine like Levocetrizine or Benadryl to relieve the symptoms of redness and itching..
Wash your face with cool water..
If the eyes are extremely dry and irritated artificial tear drops can be relieving..
