What Causes Itchiness In The Body After Discontinuing Montek?

I have been taking Montek LC continuously since 6 years, and now if I stop it for a day or two, it starts itching all over my body. And even while taking it, I feel some itching on my hands and feet, esp. palms and soles. Can you please explain what s happening, and how I can come out of the drug addiction and actually stop it? Thank you very much.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

From your description, I am of the opinion that you are suffering from Chronic Urticaria. You should test for an allergy panel. Montair LC is not causing allergy, on the contrary, it is preventing it. I will suggest Atarax.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashish Ranjan, General & Family Physician
