What Causes Itchiness Of Vagina And Passing Of Thick Discharge?

The outside of my vagina (the whoel outside especially down by the vaginal opening) was irritated and sore feeling for 4 days and now all of a sudden it is very irritated and now itchy as of last night. I dont really check down there, mostly because i am still a virign and have not been sexually active with any guy at all (oral and vaginally) but it could have more of a reddish tone than what seems normal. I am about to start my period but i m more concerned if i have a yeast infection because i am not dry down there. The discharge is a little more thick than usual and its feeling very moist down there. I know i do not have any STD s so i know that is completey out of the question. Do you know what this could be?

Hello,

From your symptoms, it seems that you are having infection of the vaginal area and vulva,which can be fungal(most likely) or bacterial in origin.

If i were your treating doctor,i would have advised you some investigations like complete blood count,
Urine for routine examination and culture-sensitivity,
Vaginal swab culture and sensitivity.

Meanwhile,i would have prescribed you some antibiotics like cefixime and azithromycin for a period of 5 days in the required dosage,
antifungal like fluconazole in the required dose,
antiinflammatory like ibuprofen,
and a vaginal pessary containing clotrimazole to apply per vaginally for about 5-7 consecutive nights.

I would like to suggest you to go to your local doctor,get yourself examined properly and get a prescription so that you can take the medicines and get the investigations done.
