What Causes Itchiness On The Face After A Face Spa?

I was given a spa facial treatment at a salon on Thursday. Friday afternoon my face started to itch a bit. Now it s Sunday and almost all of my face is covered in itchy bumps and is red and blotchy; also a bit swollen. What can I do from home to counteract this reaction? I tried a Benadryl cream, but it made the symptoms worse and added a burning sensation.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello.
Thank you for the question.
It seems that your symptoms are probably due to some allergic reaction from the spa.
I'd suggest you take anti allergic drugs like tab. Avil or Cetrizine , which will help with the inflammatory reaction.
You could also apply calamine lotion for some relief.
If your symptoms don't subside with these, I'd suggest you consult your local dermatologist.
I find this answer helpful
