What Causes Itchiness On The Forehead, Sides Of The Head And The Chin?

I am 74 yrs old...a woman...and have been struggling with itchiness on my forehead and sometimes on sides of my head near my chin. Sometimes face turns red. No new meds. Dermatologist gave me some ointment samples a month ago which helped clear it but it has started again. Am I suddenly allergic to something? I am using exerderm baby wash on my face and also ewxerderm intense moisturizer for sensitive skin but still this morn my forehead was reddish and itchy. Do I see a dermatologist or allergist at this point? Can u help?

Hello,

Regarding your question the symptoms you mentioned can be caused by allergic predisposition however autoimmune mediated diseases and vasculitis can also lead to similar symptoms. I would recommend you to visit Dermatologist and for evaluation of medical conditions some blood tests should be done like ANA, ESR, RFTs and ANCA levels.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
