General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Itching s result of using medication may imply either an allergy specific to the medication or it my be side effect that can occur in anyone ho uses the medication.

It can take few days for medication to completely leave the body. If the itching is still severe or not improving with the consistent use of anti-histamines for at least 24 to 48 hours, then you may need a short course of steroids to help decrease your response to it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James,
