Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am being treated for AML. At the same time I have been experiencing itching over my entire body. I have been taking Prednisone, 5 mg once or twice a day. However, I am also diabetic (Type 1) and my oncologist want me to take the least amount of Prednisone possible. Today he mentioned that perrhaps I should try Questran. However, I do not have any liver or bile problems that I am aware of. Do you think I should try Questran:
Hello, Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic for your health concern
Questran is used to relieve itching associated with too much bile acids in the body. Otherwise, questran is of no use to relieve itching. Please review with your oncologist to discuss the need for questran for you.
