What Causes Itching And Burning In Vagina?

While pregnant I had a pap smear and done and it came back with some strange result that basically said I may have HPV. I went through the pregnancy and had never known before it that I had anything of the sort and ever since I had my kid, which by now is one year and going.. well I have yet to see any signs. With lack of health insurance and a smaller than usual town, it's not likely I can just waltz into a doctors office and the real question after all that rant is.

Does age literally break down the body to the point that things such as itching and burning in the vagina can occur? or does something like an antibiotic really affect a woman that badly? I took one due to a bad tooth and ive been glancing around online about the type of reaction I have. The basic itching, the burning and even a bit of swelling. One pill can really cause that much damage? or am I looking at the beginning of something worse?
