What Causes Itching And Burning Sensation In The Palms?
Hi, I have red ichy palms that are hot and burn if I scratch. Its seems to have spread the top of my hand and appears as little red spots on the top of hand. Its beginning to creep onto my wrists. I am treating myself with over the counter cortizone 10 cream. it soothes infected area for a little while, but then symptoms return. Any guesses what this could be? Theresa

The red itchy palms you are having are due to dermatitis:
- possible allergy to any new detergent or other allergen you might have been in contact recently
- fungal infection
I advise to start taking oral anti-histaminic (e.g. Benadryl) apart applying cortisone cream.
If still no improvement, consult with dermatologist as might need prescription meds.
