What Causes Itching And Burning Sensation In The Penis?

I have an itching/burning sensation at the tip of my penis (almost feels like a paper cut). Has been occurring for the past five weeks, at intermittent time not necesaarily when urinating. No discharge or rash. I had a urinalysis and was put on cipro antibiotic for ten days. The symptoms have lessened but not disappeared. The GP has mentioned possibly epididymitis as the test did not indicate a uti. At times I have testicle pain. None of this is too painful more irritating. I have an appt with a urologist later in the month. Any other thoughts?

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Based on your history I think that this could be just a yeast infection of penis.
I suggest to meet an urologist and to start a local antifungal cream.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
