What Causes Itching And Foul Odor In The Vagina?

Hi, I m a little hesitant writing this because it is so personal. I went to the gynecologist a few weeks ago with itching odor problem. They took a swab and the results said that I don t have any bacteria or yeast in the sample. The itching and smell have not really stopped in a few months and im tired of being embarrassed by the odor.

Hello, Thanks for the query. I understand the concern you have regarding such a complaint. Most often a mild discharge from vagina is quite common. However, foul odor invariably points to presence of bacterial or fungal infection. Some times smear may not show any positive result. Still it is better to get a course of antibiotics (or antibacterials ) and antifungal therapy done.
So i suggest you may take Tablet Fasigyn 500 mg - 2 tabs once a day for 3 days, with Tab Clarithromycin 500 mg twice a day for 3 days and Tablet Fluconazole 150 mg once a week for 4 weeks. This treatment should eliminate any infection that may be present and should help in eliminating the itching and foul odor. Thanks
