What Causes Itching And Inflammation Of Body Post Intake Of Cephalexin?

i took 1 cephalexin capsule 500 mg last night. About 10 mins later my face started getting red and my body got very itchy and felt hot. Then it cooled down and and I felt cold and shivery. Should I continue to take the tablets. Also I put steiva cream on my face beforehand. I dont ever have any side effects from the face cream.

Itching and hot feeling after taking Cephalexin is a sign of allergic reaction and you should not continue to take the medicine henceforth..

You should also consult your treating physician and get evaluated so that he can give you substitute antibiotics belonging to different groups that are compatible for your body and do not cause allergies..

As of now you can take anti allergics like levocetrizine or Allegra to relieve allergy symptoms..
