General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Fungal infection is the usual cause of such irritation and itching in groin area. Your doctor gave medication for that only. If there is no improvement with anti fungal medication and you are still getting it then it is most likely due to any allergy. In such case you can avoid soaps for washing genital area and instead use warm water or saline. Use loose underwear. Use mild detergents for undergarments also. Using creams based on corticosteroids locally and anti histamines will be helpful also. A review with your doctor is well appreciated. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
