HI IM RACHEL DEVORE I HAVE A QUESTION CAN I BE ALLDERGIC TO PADS I NEVER HAD PROBLEMS BEFORE TILL UP TO NOW AFTER I HAD MY BABY IM 27 YEARS OLD IT WAS MY FIRST BABY AND ITS BEEN TWO WEEKS SINCE I GAVE BIRTH AND I BEEN HAVING IRRITATION ON MY PRIVATE AREA AND ITCHY AND IT ONLY DOES IT WHEN IM WEARING A PAD

Hi,

Some brands may cause sensitivity in some individuals. Changing to a different brand is usually all that is needed.

Meanwhile, you can apply emollients like a diaper cream over the area for soothing. If itching is bothersome, you can take antihistamine tablets like Levocetirizine 5mg at bed time for 3-5 days- no much concern on baby, and can continue breast feeding.
