What Causes Itching At The Vaginal Opening?

Got what seems to be random itching at the opening of my vagina. I m sexually active, so I was worried it might be an STI so I got checked out. All the tests came back negative, and it seemed to go away after a while. It just came back out of the blue and I have no idea why. No cause from what I can tell. It s just at the opening of the vagina, not the labia or anything else. Not sure what it could be from, but it gets intense to the point that I ve cut myself scratching before. Help?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Thanks for asking HCM.
It seems that you have got fungal infection in your vaginal area. If you have white curdy discharge at that place then its indicative of candidiasis. Which is a very common condition in women.
If a patient like you come to my clinic I would have given T. onecane 150 mg once in month for 3 months, T.metronidazole 400 mg for 5 days to both husband and wife, candid cream for local application. Since it is a prescription medicine please discuss with your physician before taking those medications.
Hope this will help.
