Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a burning itchy feeling in my left ear that comes in waves. It will be ok for a while and then a wave of itchy burning sensations starts. It starts of as if someone is tickling you year and then progresses to a burning ache. When you feel the ear it is notably garment than the other. once it subsides the ear also cools again. I t is sore and extremely difficult to concentrate when it starts.
Ishare your concerns as you are facing problem due to ear itching. In my opinion you have fungal infection in your ear canal. It is called otomycosis. It will require antifungal ear drops and antifungal tablets.
Other possibility is ear wax. It can be removed by an ent expert or GP. You can use ear drops too, which loosen the wax and help in removing it.
Thirdly, it could be dermatitis of the ear canal skin. In this case you will require steroids ear drops.
I would advise you to visit an ENT expert, get yourself examined, finalise the diagnosis and start taking treatment. You will be fine in a week.
I hope my reply will help you. Please write to us or me for more queries. I wish you good health. Kindly rate this reply. Thanks
