Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For the past 5 years my feet have itched extremely bad when they re wet mainly if I was walking in wet shoes. Now for the past month anytime I take a shower for more than 5 min or if my feet are sweating it s the same horrible itching that I can t get rid of. I ve used lotion to try to cure but nothing is working. My feet don t get red, no rashes, no bumps, no burning. What could it be?
Your symptoms are pointing towards fungal infection of feet, which is usually between the toes and can itch really bad if the feet are sweaty or wet. I would recommend you to get any topical anti fungal foot cream and apply it twice a day morning and evening on dry feet for 5-7 days.
Keep your feet dry, avoid wet shoes, wear open shoes, avoid tight shoes and if your feet sweat immediately wash with soap and dry them with a towel. Keep a different towel for your feet. If the itching doesn’t go away after 2 weeks then i would suggest you to get an appointment with a dermatologist who can thoroughly examine your feet to come up with the right solution.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
