What Causes Itching In The Anus And Groin Area Post Vaginal Intercourse?

Hello, I have had unprotected sex approximately 12 days ago and am currently experiencing anal and groin itching. A rash has also developed between my scrotum and inner thigh. I have seen my GP who unfortunately conducted a very brief physical examination before ordering a test for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia for which I have received negative results. Please see the attached image of the rash, could these be early symptoms of Herpes?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I see through your query that STD tests are negative.

So, I would think that the rash can be related to a fungal infection.

I would recommend to wash and dry frequently the area.

I recommend using an antifungal cream for local application and antifungal oral medication.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
