Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Itching more and more. Do not see a visible rash. However, my dog (treated for a fungal infection, by the veterinarian) looks like she has mange. Itching is worse at night and in the hot shower. What is causing my itching? Rest of my family is experiencing the same symptoms..
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itching which seems to be due to environment factors, constant contact with allergen such as dog fur sometimes act which can act as trigger factor.
The most important thing is to find the trigger factor .
I would suggest you to give cold compresses to itching area several times a day to prevent from swelling and itching and take over the counter antihistamine drug like benadryl. If symptoms still persist the consult dermatologist for proper examination and treatment . Doctor may perform skin test and challenge to find out the trigger factor . Doctor may prescribe other steroid cream ( mometasone) , anti inflammatory drug or drugs that can suppress immune system . Herbal tea and aloe vera gel are also very helpful . Stay in cool and moist environment .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
