What Causes Itching In The Lower Legs?

several years ago I was kicked on lower leg above ankle by kids 4-H calves. Have consulted several doctors about the area. They were not concerned. Had ultrasound done and circulation is fine. Changed jobs recently. Am overweight. My problem is the last few nights my lower legs itch terribly. Use bacitracin and hydrocortisone cream, but don t seem to help. The areas are darkened in color and have been since kicked. is there any other anti itch product I can try?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The symptoms can be related to eczema. I suggest you to continue using the hydro-cortisone cream for local relief. You can also use antihistamines daily to relief the itching. Use cool compresses at the area for local relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
