Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Thanks, I have had an extreme itch in the middle of my back for 2 or 3 days now. It actually feels like it s spreading around to the front today. I don t have dry skin and normally don t itch at all. Wondering if it could be early shingles or something like that?
Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and I can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I assure you not to worry as I will take care all of your medical concerns.
It has started in a dermatomal area. It may be shingles (herpes zoster viral infection). But a physician have to examine you physically to rule out the cause. So please consult your physician for the same.
He may put you on antiviral therapy. Apply Eucerin Eczema relief ointment available over the counter for up to that time. Take Ibuprofen and Claritin tablets too. It is mostly self limiting infection. But you need medical advise.
Hope I answered all of your health concerns . If you have further questions, feel free to contact me anytime. Always write my name in start of your question in future, and I will get back to you in no time. If satisfied, please give a five Star rating and don't forget to Close the discussion.
Have a wonderful time ahead.
Best Regards!
