I m a 62 y/o African American male suffering underarm and pectoral itching now generalized itching for months now. I take Allegra almost every other day but I would just like to stop itching. Ketoconzole twice a day as prescribed but I find I itch in other areas as well. We ve not changed soap/detergents or deodorants. Got a non-conclusive report from an allergist and am at wits end. General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
Along with the medications what you have been taking, you can use skin cream containing Clotimazole as ingredient. Apply twice daily.
You should be able to overcome the problem in 1 week.
If it is still persistent, kindly consult Dermatologist for evaluation and management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
Regards,
Dr.Ashakiran.S.
