What Causes Itching Inside Ear And Orange Discharge From Ear After Scratching?

I stuck a ball of rolled up sticky paper (peeled off the back of a ...something?) when i was very young maybe 7. I never told anyone until about two years later as it was too embarrassing. However 4 years on and i have screaming head aches and ear aches very often and sensitive hearing. Just now i had an itchy ear so i scratched it. But the itch was deep in so i put my pinky in and itched. A great clump og something came out. It was a yellow/orange (dark) colour with black lines (normal paper with writing on?). It fresked me out and im sure that there is more in there as its itching like crazy. I have been to to doctor numerous times and had the camera light thing stuck in my ear. I was told it was just wax build up but ear wax is NOT that colour. I now can t hear very well and i want to itch but i am worried about damaging my war drum. Also i pulled the wax glob apart and it was very fibrous and paper like.

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of eardrum inflammation or perforation which s leading to eczema and fluid accumulation.

I would suggest you to apply warm dry compresses to external ear . You should keep your ear dry until it gets alright, which is very important and cover your ear while bathing. Put Otogesic ear drops. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and get hearing levels checked. Doctor may prescribe proper course of antibiotics along with anti inflammatory medications.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
