What Causes Itching On Lips After Eating A Hot Pickled Pepper?
I ate a hot pickled pepper and after a couple of hours, the area around my lips turned red and now it is itching and it hurts when I open my mouth wide. Ice helps but it still itches after I take it off. Is it from the peppers or something else. Also there are small spots or pimples on my hands but they are not red.
As per your complain you have got an allergic reaction to the Pickled peppers, either the peppers or any of the constituent used in it and the reaction has been caused to the areas where ever it contacted like the fingers and the lips..
1.You should take antihistamines/anti allergics like Levocetrizine or Allegra.. 2 Continue doing ice packs.. 3.Apply Lignocaine gel in case of excessive itching and discomfort.. 4.In case of pain OTC painkiller like Ibuprofen can be taken.. 5.Avoid taking the food item again to prevent allergic reaction.. 6.Also avoid hot, spicy and acidic food to prevent irritation.. In case if there is no improvement consult a General Physician or an Allergist and get evaluated and a blood test can help in confirming the cause and treated accordingly..
Hope this helps..
Thanks and regards..
