What Causes Itching On The Body After Taking Lidocaine?
My wife just had an allergic reaction to Lidocaine at the dentist office. Just itching all over, no hives. She has had two episodes of allergic reaction to regular strength antacid tablets with severe hives. Is there any possible common denominator? The only ingredients listed that are similar in name are sodium polyphosphate in the antacid and both sodium sodium chloride and sodium hydroxide in the Lidocaine.
The main ingredients in the lidocaine anaesthetic solution and antacid are totally different and to know that is there any common ingredient I would rather need the exact brand names of the medications..
As far as the names of the medication are concerned they do not contain common active ingredients..
So in case if you wish to know which the exact cause of the allergic reaction you should consult an Emergency room and evaluated and an allergy test can be done to rule out the exact cause of the symptoms..
It should be avoided in future to avoid the recurrence of symptoms..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
