What Causes Itching On The Palms And Feet?

Hi ... 18 yrs old patient of dengue fever with 1,77000 platelets having severe itching ovar palm and foot ..He is on ceftrixone inj and also welfelix was positive added doxycline ...What may the cause of such itching .. antihistaminic is added ...Dr.Wable S.G.

hello. does the patients antigen test confirmed he is having dengue? if so, it is more like dengue fever rather than dengue haemorrhagic fever ,(depending on the platelet count). in dengue fever when some patient become afebrile and in recovry phase ,they get a recvery rash. recovery rash is characterised by erythema of skin with islands of pallor. it is associated with itching too. so this itching is may b due to that.
The other reason can be developing an allergy to any of those antibiotics. hope this helps thank you
