Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
The palms of my hands have been very itchy for two days now. Last night I woke at 2am to my legs and torso also also being itchy although that has resolved itself over the day. 19 days ago I had a breast reduction and resection of an ancillary flap from a mastectomy. All areas where there are stitches were also very itchy but relieved by cold compresses. The palms are still flaring up though. My daughter, a midwife, says that when their clients have these symptoms it s a pregnancy complication causing bile production problems. However I mm68 years old and single so definitely not pregnancy related.

What Causes Itching On The Palms Of The Hands?
Hello! Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM! Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms could be related to an allergic reaction or a metabolic disorder. For this reason, I recommend consulting with your attending physician for a careful physical exam and some tests: - complete blood count, PCR, ESR for inflammation - kidney and liver function tests for possible dysfunction - blood electrolytes - allergy tests - thyroid hormone levels - uric acid levels. You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues. Hope you will find this answer helpful! Kind regards, Dr. Iliri
