What Causes Itching On The Scalp?

Thought I might have contacted lice at a child s party a few days ago but although I don t see anything in my hair, I am itchy all over and have white flecks that can be seen on my couch and occasionally in my hair. I think it might be dandruff but want to be sure. Also, my eyes are itchy and I find some particles in the corner of my eye. Is it just coincidence that I am experiencing these symptoms shortly after the party? Is it all in my head?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Scalp tenderness may be due to a local cause like scalp infection, abscess or trauma. Other causes may be a migraine, tension-type headache or temporal arteritis or herpes zoster.

Are you having a headache, vomiting, nausea, photophobia, phonophobia, sleep disturbances? If yes, then certain neurological issues may be present and you should do hear CT scan or MRI.

Use of local anaesthesia is a short lasting procedure. If required in cases of tension-type headache botox injection can be given.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
