What Causes Itching Sensation And Redness On Left Big Toe?
My left big toe is red and itchy and it seems too have a bubble and I know this it nasty but I tried to squeeze it and it seem to have water but it s killing me it s driving me crazy how itchy it is but before it got the bubbles with water it was dry
Itchiness or redness on the big toe is commonly caused by bacterium (staph aureus) commonly found on the skin. Infection develops at the sites where the skin has been broken by small injuries, boils, etc., and may result in itchiness. Sometimes, boils are also caused by fungal infections, touching and scratching may cause the spread.
Do not touch or scratch instead keep it clean. Take care of your hygiene, wash the area affected with warm water, dry it and apply ointment Hydrocortisone or clotrimazole. Boil heals when it opens and drains out. If your toe is infected with fungal infection then you can take a course of antifungals.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
