What Causes Itching Sensation And Swelling In Legs In Spite Of Using Cortisone Cream?

My daughter (14) has had extremely itchy legs for the last week or so. It usually hits her around early evening and she is scratching them uncontrollably. What could this be caused from and what should I do about it? I ve given her some cortisone cream to put them which seems to temporarily ease it a little but it seems as though she s getting a bit swollen from it all. Help! She s miserable!

Hi,
It seems that this might be due to some allergy either internal or external.
Try to find out allergen producing this.
Any mosquito bite or bug bite might cause this.
Meanwhile give her Benadryl or Cetrizine for itching.
Apply Caladryl lotion on the part.
Ok and take care.
